Subject: NS Health Immunization Course now available

The immunization course for health care providers (e.g. nurses, pharmacists, paramedics,
and physicians) working in the continuing care sector is now available through Nova Scotia
Health’s RN Professional Development Centre online learning system.
There are two modules; each module takes approximately 2 hours to complete.
 Module 1 focuses on the initial requirements for competency in immunization and
includes the Nova Scotia Health Immunization Course.
 Module 2 provides specific information on COVID-19 Vaccines.
As was mentioned during the January 14 Continuing Care Sector Call, Nova Scotia Health
must first enroll continuing care sector participants in the learning platform before they are
able to access the course. Please send each participant’s name, email address, role, and
agency/facility name to Belinda.Ferguson@nshealth.ca.
Once enrolled, each participant will receive an email with a link to the online course, and a
username to log into the site. They will be prompted to create a password.
The immunization course will be available on the main page in the learning system upon
login. If needed, there are two videos that provide a demonstration on how to navigate the
learning system, as well as access to a live chat help feature. Once the course is completed,
participants have the option to print a skills checklist that confirms their completion of the
two modules.
