Career Description

Denturists assess and treat the oral health of persons who are missing some or all of their natural teeth. They design, repair, reline, and make removable dental appliances. Denturists provide mouth guards and other dental devices to restore and maintain natural function and appearance.

Academic and Licensing Requirements

  • Completion of High school or equivalent.

Prerequisites differ for each institution but generally include biology, chemistry, physics, math and English.

Upon completion of educational requirements one must write the Nova Scotia Denturist Board Exam and be certified as a Denturist to work in Nova Scotia. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited school of denturism.
